Resolution Together – Our 6 Step “Just One Couple One Lawyer” Approach

Resolution Together is a unique and innovative approach to family law in the UK that involves a single lawyer representing both parties in a divorce or separation. This model may also be referred to as “One Couple One Lawyer,” Your Just Family Law solicitor is regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and has over thirty years’ experience working as a family lawyer to help couples resolve their disputes in a confidential setting.

Resolution Together – Our “Just One Couple One Lawyer “approach in six steps:

  1. Initial Consultation: You will both individually meet with your Just One Couple One Lawyer solicitor to discuss your situation, the suitability of the process and how it may work for you.
  2. Information Gathering: You will both prepare full financial disclosure to ensure that your lawyer has all requisite information and documentation, and a Schedule of Assets is drawn up by your solicitor
  3. Individual meetings:  You will each review the financial information individually with your one lawyer, so all aspects of the financial position are understood, and your lawyer is attuned to your priorities and concerns.
  4. Joint Meetings: Following the individual meetings, there will be a joint meeting or a series of joint meetings in which you will be guided through settlement options to reach an agreement
  5. Reflection Period: To enable you to step back and take stock ofthe agreement reached, we suggest a 14-day cooling-off period before a binding court order is drafted.
  6. Implementation of your Agreement: Once an agreement is reached, your “Just One Couple One lawyer “solicitor will lawyer prepare a Financial Consent Order to be filed at court and create a legal binding agreed outcome for you both.
